You are in luck! If you missed the outstanding February Captains' Roundtable at Lakewood Yacht Club about the current Mid-Bay Dredging activity you now have an opportunity to attend the presentation at HYC. As all of you should know, the Houston Ship Channel is being dredged as you read this, and dredging will continue throughout 2014. In February, US Army Corps of Engineers Project Engineer Al Meyer (who is also a sailor!) gave an excellent presentation not only about potential hazards when navigating around dredges and what you need to know to stay safe, but also about what goes on behind the scenes, the amazing equipment and how it works, and what is happening underwater where our keels are. Bring your questions and come see Mr. Meyer's exciting presentation - you will dig it!
