Does anyone use the Seabrook Shipyard hoist?

Wondering if it is also suitable for putting up a mast on a keel stepped trailer sailor?  We are bringing our boat down from Austin the first weekend in August and the idea is to drysail the boat out of Seabrook using their hoist, but I haven't actually confirmed that is a good idea.  Starting that process now.

  Seabrook has a pole with a rope through two shives north of the crane. It most likely will do what you need. It's out in the middle of the road, under the 240kva power lines, so it's easy to miss as a mass hoist. All the boats that put in at dry storage can use it. Just don't put your mast up in fog or rain.

How tall is that pole Gary?  Think it would hoist a J105 mast? 51'

Thanks Gary.  That is what we are used to here on Lake Travis.

I doubt it is tall enough for a 105 stick and even if it was, how would you get tow the boat anywhere after it was up?

I just need to raise the mast about a foot for a little while.  Not familiar with the pole at all.

Bee, it looks like a standard 35 ft. power pole, I don't think the crane is rated for a J-105 or high enough for your keel.

The pole is on land in the middle of a parking lot.  No way to get your boat under it, even if it were tall/strong enough.

Maybe I could let Stinger's keel dig a ditch as she went in.  In 45 knots of breeze at say 24 knots of boat speed KE = .5 X 8,580 X 2,025 = 8,687,250.  Yeah that might work
