Just checked the attendees list for the seminar this Saturday.  37 students.  31 crew and 5 skippers.  Sounds like they heard about the free beer!

Yes! We've contacted nearly all of them and things are working out swimmingly.
There are plenty of reasons to get really excited about GBCA's third year of doing this!

Many thanks to the skippers that are taking on new crews.  I've e-mailed you your crew contacts, so be sure to contact them tonight so they know what is needed specific to your own boat (like boat time, location, footwear and bringing the skipper copious offerings of cold canned beer...)

In particular Alan Bates of B-Sailing has really been a HUGE help by bringing out three boats and helping promote the event!  Also, Roy Newberry Sr. is mentoring a skipper.  More thanks to Chris Dees/John Butler, The Bednars, Jim Powers, Johnny Jones, Greg Gladden, The Caldwells....
Everyone has really stepped it up in giving a little something back to the sport.

At this moment, we still have just a handful of crew we're looking to place on boats.  So if your boat has a crew slot open... let us know.  We need to sprinkle some of the talent around.

Interestingly among the 30 or so crew who signed up, there are 4-5 boat owners who are checking things out as crew in RR#1 before they jump in and race their own boats.  This is like the icing on the cake and exactly what we want to have happen.

Let's make Rum Rae #1 experience a good one for everyone who has signed up, and encourage owners to get their boats out for Rum Race #2, next week!

Great looking list.  What is the wind going to do? Conflicted forecasts are so much fun.
