Planning, Hmm

Remove The larger potted plants, empty the trash...

Those who recognize that this is serious business ocean going may do more than the following.
Review the offshore regulations for this category race.
Do you actually have all those flares...?
When did you last check fire extinguishers?
Do you have a medical profile of all participants? Medications, conditions, special requirements, blood type, etc?
Will the engine run 6 hours without stopping?
Min Oil change, w filter, check water pump, exhaust, etc
How is the boat getting back? Reservations?
Provisioning-
Need more water than anyone thinks
Need to feed without depending on cooking.
Need contingency food for long race.
How do you take your coffee?
Fenders and lines, even if you think you will be in a slip
Jack lines, wearable PFD's, harnesses, with lights and whistles
are the PFD's current? Do you have rearming kits?
A plan to wear PFD's if wind over 10 kts

And oh so many more reasons to attend the Captain's roundtable on August 15 at Lakewood 9AM 3 PM  !!!

Get registered now to be eligible for the drawing for the early bird special.  Our friends at Bacardi have some great things to give away to one lucky early bird.  The roundtable is this Saturday.  It is a wealth of information so plan to attend if you have never been to one.

John does have a point.. if you are considering racing, contact one of the riggers to check over everything... also get the engine inpsected... the strangest things can happen when we don't expect it...
