- We will be using PHRF for the race fleet to determine the Bacardi Cup winner.
- The Luna Trophy will be awarded to a cruising non spinnaker boat with a woman skipper and crew; Luna boats will be allowed to carry one male owner's representative
*bump*
I like what I see in the long range forecast on sailflow.com. Of course, that could change!

HMR 2011 Boat tracker link

It looks like the race tracker (trackleaders.com) has been improved. When you click on your favorite boat, the info bubble has alot of information, including a 'full history' link
As of this morning, boats are now broken down into their various fleet, by color.
You can layer the fleets you are interested in, wx radar, and it has a refresh every three minutes feature so you can leave the window open...(check box is in the lower right corner)
If you click on Leaderboard, it has the Matagorda and Freeport buoy check ins also.
It looks like 118 boats using the tracker, hopefully a few more will be added before race time for all the armchair quarterbacks out there ;-)
Racers are in for a real treat tonight. Full moon rises at 19:20
ALSO, the Space Station at 8:30pm, coming from the Southwest, then departing WSW, visible for about 2 minutes in the Galveston area
ISS Thu Oct 13/08:30 PM: Galveston, visible time 2 minutes, Max elevation 31?
Approach from 11? above SW, Departs 31? above WSW
The farther south you are, the better, longer and higher overhead the view. (In Corpus it will max out at 70? overhead, for 3 minutes)
Great info--thanks!

The weather gods smiled on this race, it makes up for last year....
Good times in Port A!
Although many GBCA members brought home HMR pickle dishes this weekend, the big one (Bacardi Cup) goes to Cliff Haddox and his crew on Musica, an Aerodyne 38! Congrats Cliff!!
Musica pulled away right after the start and didn't look back, arrival time in Port A was around 9 a.m. Friday
Great racing guys!
