What great day to be out sailing, my thanks to all who made it happen! And John your photos from Tramp that you showed at the party were great! Hope you post them on the GBCA site, so I can show my freinds and family the fun they are missing, and the great people I hang out with!
And Tramp was looking good, many thanks for all your help!

Opps! Should be Glad we didn?t race on Sunday!
I second for radio contact on 68 at the finish for the first five. It works for the Harvest Moon Race, and it would be great when we start the RUM races, when it is getting dark and cannot see clearly. Or is that because of the beer or rum!

Warning ? KATANA( Hunter 34) hit a sixteen foot, mostly submerged log, at least a foot round as we exit the first lock at the Brazos river. It was about 5:30 AM Monday morning we were just exiting the first lock and the current was moving fast and the boat lifted about 6 inch up then down, then up and down again then the motor came to a sudden stop, I could see about 2 foot of a log sticking out the port side just in front of the rudder. We were then pushed by about a 14 or more knot wind to the south side of the locks against a work barge. Were spent about an hour trying to remove the log with a rope and a long spiked pole(supplied by the lock master), we free the log and then were towed the Freeport were I dove under the boat and found a big dent in the rudder, and was bent back about an inch, and also the cutlass bearing support was damaged. KATANA is how waiting in Freeport to be hauled out.

Your right we made mistakes in the first and second leg. With a 4.3? keel we cannot point in the first leg and on the second leg we made mistakes trying some new things, third leg we started to wake up and fly right and broke out the jello shot and watch the sunset. I did not fly the kite in RR#8 sometimes it does more harm than good, this year we were just try to learn how to fly it, and need a lot more practice. Hope to see you all in Harvest Moon Race. My thanks to the GBCA race committee for a job well done, and all the great times and the great photos.   Crumudgon I?ll buy you a cold one in Port A, by the way what does the name mean?

Maybe if the finishes could be called on the radio (ch# 68) by the first place boat, so  we know who is supposted to be taking names. And this way those who have not finished know were they are in the line up( kind of like the Harvest Moon Race)! I have yet to see anyone in the GBCA class circling for numbers(other than me) and I have been in the top five finishes four times. Just my thoughts!
