On a recent sail we where bringing Petite Helene (draft 6') back down the Clear Creek Channel.  We hit something SOLIDLY IN the Channel just inside of #4.  We were about a half a boat length inside of #4.  I suspect it's the remnant of a previous #4.  Please allow at least a boat length of clearance in the channel inside of #4.  It could save a lot of damage.  Fortunately, we were only going about 4 knots and Petite Helene is really well built.  It paid off then with no damage according to the divers.  I have tried to report it to the Coast Guard but so far I haven't been able to get ahold of them.

Thanks Bob!  My crew will be happy.  They sailed well.

There was a scoring error in Rum Race 8 in the Spinnaker Non-Sprit Class.  Petite Helene (#12) was missed completely.  The correct order....verified by the drone video...is: 1) Picante,  2) Yikes,  3) J-24 #USA 267,  4) Petite Helene, and  5) #41940.  The white flag was flying on Petite Helene but may be blocked to the drone. Thanks to all that helped make the Rum Race Series and parties so much fun!

We have had Boat/US for over 30 years.  We have always been happy with their claims resolution.  Not sure how compare to others on price but they are there when you need them and know about boats.

We like it later, like last year.  It's awfully hot at the dock rigging up and waiting for crew when the start is this early.  It will get worse as the summer heats up.  In the summer, evening sailing is much nicer.  Perhaps extend the deadline for finishing for the slower boats.
