Title: HYC OFFSHORE REGATTA
Post by: billvanrav on March 24, 2013, 04:09:32 PM
Howdy y'all!  The HYC Offshore Regatta is open for registration on RegattaNetwork. We've made a BUNCH of changes for this year.  For starters, we are partnering with GBCA and LYC to promote the TORC (Texas Ocean Racing Circuit) and the Texas Navy Cup. This is nothing less than a noble tradition and is a VERY WORTHWHILE thing to do; we feel more people should be involved in it. Since the Texas Navy Cup is a spin-only award, we are launching a NEW perpetual award for the non-spin racers.  We have named it after Samuel Rhodes Fisher, the second Secretary of the Texas Navy and a major figure in Texas history. It will be known as the S. Rhodes Fisher Trophy and will be awarded sometime later in the year after the results of the Heald Bank, HYC Offshore and Texas Race Week have been tallied.

Additionally, we are reinstating the Carroll Blanchard Trophy at the HYC Offshore race for the Spin class.  More details on these awards can be seen at http://hycoffshoreregatta-com.webs.com/20130324_Regatta%20update.pdf (http://hycoffshoreregatta-com.webs.com/20130324_Regatta%20update.pdf). Have a GREAT 2013 you all!

I really like the way these two races are structured Bill.  Starting a TORC race at 8:00 AM makes me smile.  Now all I have to wonder about is how the crew will take it after partying all night.

The Stinker is signed up.
