Jim,

I have 13 boats reporting times.  The median boat (#7) did not change, but the 6th place (Leopard) changed by one second.  The farther you are from the median boat, the greater your potential for change.

Terry,

New ratings this afternoon.  I have no idea about food for the party.  I can tell you what kind they have in the hospital and I'd rather have a good hot dog :o

It?s going to be a good mix of sailing and ?fun?.  A challenging first race, but one that?s designed to get everyone in by noon-ish on Friday.  Clean-up, rest-up, then party at RC HQ, aka Ocean Village.  The building is on stilts so we have a built-in shady, dry spot with sea breeze since it?s right on the beach.  Day Race courses designed to be easily viewed from the beach so friends and family can see some of the action while they?re working on that sand castle.

Of course, the patented GBCA rum bar will be in full effect as well for the parties...

GBCA Club Handicaps have been calculated:

Five boats only changed by one second, and one didn't change at all.  I can set my watch by Stellar of Course 8)

I hate to be cynical, but my money is on Bee?s cynicism.  They built the Bayport container terminal without regard for public sentiment and without the necessary infrastructure.  Yes there were town hall meetings, petitions and all that, but it was predestination from the get-go.  They built the Cruise Terminal without an agreement from any Cruise Line.  It has all the modern features of a cruise terminal except a single Cruise Ship.  Every road in the area has been demolished over the last two years with traffic for which it was never intended to support and they are just now getting around to building the roads that should serve this facility.  They?re betting on the Panamax come and if the Cruise Terminal is any indication of the Port Authority's clairvoyance, I would have cause for concern.

At risk of sounding like The Franklin Mint, there is a limited edition t-shirt for this fifth running of The Conundrum.  It is a baseball shirt in gray with navy 3/4 sleeves. Lovingly crafted in cotton with a one bizillionth micron coating of pure 24 karat gold*, only 50 of these high quality heirloom garments will ever be made.  You can purchase them online by adding them to your cart at registration.

*just kidding about the gold

I think Charles is right.  That cat wasn?t going to last long from the get-go.

I'm Loving it!  Just don?t let Schr?dinger's cat out the box.  That kitty?s like 80-something right now.

If you are already rated in the GBCA Cruising Class, like Ron and decide you want to try spinnaker, whip it out.  Your rating will change depending on its effectiveness.  Just ask Caldwell ;)

If you want to race in PHRF spin class, then you'll need a current rating from PHRFGB.  Good luck!
