I'm not sure if this technology is worthwhile but...

I've heard more than one GBCA veteran talk about fond memories of that regatta.

General Discussion / Re: Mike Seich

Mike was a tremendous help to GBCA for many years.   I was lucky enough to eat his barbeque more than once on more than one regatta.  Many times he worked deals to get the meat donated as well.  Now that?s classic GBCA thinking.

Godspeed Mike.  You?ll be missed.

Pete or LeighAnn probably can.  I'm going to be out of touch for a week or so.

The GBCA Supercomputer and Ratings Chicken will be down for maintenance for a week or so, but new ratings will be calculated before RR-7, so no worries.

No.  Other Woman sent me a message at the first of the season and I asked them to go ahead and register, but apparently they had trouble doing so.  I say if I am to blame for not making things clear, then I owe them a bottle of rum.  Owing bottles of rum is not a bad thing.  It keeps the "Great Circle of Life" in motion.

I totally remember you sending me the message and I thought I replied with the registration link.  If not, I guess I'll owe you one!

GBCA Cruising Class ratings were updated yesterday.  Meris was added today and adjusted based on RR-5 performance.  All ratings in the usual place:

Welcome Class Member #41!

I was lucky on day 3 that the Team Tramp could take me back to the bank after the starts were off for some health maintenance.  When I got to the condo, the beach course was in full effect.  It?s the only venue around these parts that actually has 1000 or more impromptu spectators.

A family in the lobby caught sight of the pageantry and this little girl asked daddy what those pretty boats were doing.  He said that he thought they were racing each other.  She said that when she got big she was going to do that.

Competitors and volunteers alike, from the first NOR writer to the person to take the last bag of trash out at the after-party should know that just by doing what they do, they are influencing the future of sailing.

Here?s to all of you and the year 2051 GBCA Commodore you created this weekend.

GBCA's RC Mobile Command Center is up and ready for action in G-Town.  Man, you know you're in Galveston when everybody at Walgreen's has a cart and homeboy in front of you is trying on t-shirts in the checkout line.  And, yes, he took off his regular shirt first to get an accurate fitting :o

There are six-foot draft and under slips available at GYC.  Like to see some more Cruising Class out there.  Deadline for entries is Tuesday.

Thinking about those Leo's Cajun riblets and chicken Thursday is making me hungry.

This was sent to registered skippers regarding the crew sandwich delivery, but since there are still fence sitters...
