This thread is for owners who'd like to run the Women's Regatta and and need a woman to helm.

Huh!  I guess when it's so hot the cement is evaporating the sea breeze does tend to fill in.

Now if we can only get that for the single hand race...

Don't forget that discussion.gbca.org is here for discussing any local racing.  Feel free to post commentary on other club's races and the Wednesday Night series.

For example, I'll be pulling sheets on Kimo tomorrow night, discussing NASA's recent news with Joe and enjoying a cold one as we bob around in the blazing, windless, heat.

I'm curious why GBCA would want fewer entry fees and more people at the party?

Perhaps we should use little South of the Border Cheer as well;

They train your race committee and establish a set of rules that work across the continent.

Well, given that August 8th is the birthday of Emiliano Zapata;

I'd suggest Mexican food if my entry isn't too late.  Perhaps we could rename this Rum Race the Zapata Regatta?

GBCA should be a trend setter and do a "Spares Cup" the same weekend as the NOOD in which the local PHRF racers get to race without us one design boats on their starts.  Coordinate it with HYC/LYC and let them pick up the bar proceeds and I suspect you'd have a deal.....

There was no first place boat to stick around and take finishes in the Non Spin class.

It's all in the rules.

I'd hope that any owner who felt the conditions were risky or that his presence at the channel entrance might put others at risk would head back to the barn and settle for a little ribbing at the party afterwards.

I know Stinger didn't hang around to finish the other boats racing with sea anchors deployed.

I have a quick question - is this being run as two different events (single handed on Sat and double on Sunday?)

Yup, two separate races with one awards ceremony after the race on Sunday.

I noticed that Tervis makes ice buckets as well.  Perhaps GBCA should order some of those and call them "Extra large tumblers with handles."

Today's results here:

It's sad how good of a job we did guessing the finishes from our heat and beer addled position on Stinger.  Especially sad when I look at the results...   ;D

Good job everyone, esp the race committee.
