Looks great Kevin! Hey when you registered why do you have be at least 13 years old?????????? ::)

The software has a setting that allows us to make that a requirement.  It's there because of COPPA;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COPPA

I clicked it when I installed the software because I was in a hurry and I couldn't remember what we had discussed at the board meeting.  I'll PM Jim and ask him what he thinks.

At least I think I fixed it, go have a look.  The original code that David and Stuart wrote had a PHP version conflict with the new host's newer version of PHP3.  Sorry for the delay folks.

Good job Kevin.  This keeps the crew list current and applicable to the audience.  This should work a lot better than an "I want to crew" or "I need crew" post from hanging around beyond currency.  Nice - keep the thread/forum current!!!

Thanks Brian,

I like the fact that people can start a thread stating exactly what they need and people can reply in the thread or contact the poster privately.

Heck, I was able to land one more for the Heald the week of the race and look how that's turned out..   ;D

The proof is in the pudding I always say.  Although on Stinger the Proof is often in the jello shots.

Flies?  You complain about flies?

It's 81 degrees here at 11:30 pm.  Team Stinger will be rooting for you tomorrow as we head down for the Heald, but we'll be wishing a flock of flies on ourselves if in exchange for cool.

Go out and give them a good Texas spanking again tomorrow.

What's your favorite everyday mixing rum for cocktails?

I've got a soft spot for Appleton.  Used to drink it with my Grandmother.   But I've always liked the Cruzan as well.

You missed an option on your poll.

5.  "Somebody Else's."

Stinger has scored the famous Mr Spithill to run the race with us!  I'm sure that we'll get "Further" in the same amount of time with him aboard.

I've found my crew thanks to this new fangled discussion board.

Hey Jack, click the appropriate icon below my smiling mug and send me a personal message...

Oh, I gotcha.

I'm kind of exited about this as well.  It gives people a bunch of good options for how to put a crew together that the old list didn't and hopefully we'll see some newbie folks and boats checking in here.

Hey Chris, I think I may need to create a sticky top post on the subject.

This IS the new crew list.  The idea is that you post what you're looking for such as "Millenium Express looking to fill a few spots for the Heald Bank" etc.  You can include whatever contact info you feel like including or just suggest that interested parties join the forum and use the private messaging feature to contact you.  That way you don't have to post a phone number on a public forum if you don't want to.  You can also chat with each other right here on the forum..

An added bonus is that older posts will simply disappear onto the back pages and there won't be any need to scan through dozens of posts.

Anyone who has an entry on the OLD crew finder that they'd like to see here should move it themselves, that way they can format it however they want and add any info they feel is needed.

Does that sound to you like it will work, or do you think we're barking up the wrong tree?

Galveston Bay Area Racing / Heald Bank 2009,
June 17, 2009, 10:17:40 PM
Who else is running the Heald this weekend?  It looks like a nice weekend, Weather.com says Galveston will see a HIGH of 89 degrees and SSE winds in the teens.  Should be a nice race.

Stinger is planning to be there.

Hey Kevin B,  how come you have Karma and nobody else does?  What exactly is karma anyway?  I want some!

Hmm, I don't have any karma at the moment, but you know I met the Dalai Lama once and he told me "when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.?" So I got that goin? for me, which is nice and probably as good as karma.

Millie is out as none of the crew are available this weekend.  :'(  I'd go with Stinker, except for family reunion.  Ya'll have fun.

Will do.  You also missed a pretty windy Wednesday night race tonight..
