That is a problem jumping on an 80.. you would think it would plane easier, but you have to dig deep in a longer range of breeze... I have no idea where the turning point of is from VMG to planning mode.. never found it Sunday...

I know what you guys are talking about.. we had to pause our start for 2 boats to finish... I think it would have been less confusing to finish at the top mark, where we all finished...

but your right, technically the cruisers should have rounded the "pin" and finished down wind.. that would have thrown them off....

Relly glad ya'll came out, even if you did beat us... I would have liked 3-4 shorter races on Saturday and 2-3 on Sunday, but it was good racing...

Sunday was fun, but challenging...  the shifts were unpredictable and I think the lead changed almost every leg, until "Infinity" got loose...  The wind seemed to only pick up on the upwinds, where the down winds weren't as fun, but we experimanted a bit, caught some shrimp and enjoyed the fleet...  are you coming back for the Spring Regatta? It's a J80 circuit regatta..

So it looks like the J120 has bailed on our fleet - leaving two vipers in PHRF Assym..   The other viper had a conflict and wont be able to make it - wonder where that leaves us?

eh, come over and play with the 80's.. we won't notice the difference...

anyone think we can get the "Blue Coats" to accept Team Racing in the America's Cup?  NOW, that would make it interesting...

I like your  attitude Bee... If ya'll can, watch some of the X-40 races... quite impressive and extremly tight quarters... I saw something about X-90's as a prospect... I think the limit needs to be reconsidered...  I agree that one-design is a true test of the sailor, but open rules push technology and we all benefit from that... sailing has always been about the newest technology, even within the tightest class rules...

To keep this going:

What kind of venue and boats do ya'll want to see in then next AC?

I think X-40's with all countries racing at once, fleet racing... hold 15-17 races...
