A draft of the Sailing Instructions has been uploaded for input from interested parties.  https://www.regattanetwork.com/clubmgmt/regatta_uploads/22599/162413937347278.pdf

The race is a Saturday start with awards and entertainment Monday evening.

Registration has been left open in case folks want to jump into the pursuit bay race.  If you miss the Thursday skippers meeting you will need to drop by the office at the Lakewood club house to pick up your class flag.

The Heald Bank Race is not just for the "Bold" this year.  For those who don't have the time, or the crew, or the right boat for the overnight offshore race next Friday, you can do the Saturday race and still join the Pirate's Pig Roast Awards Party and listen to Hanna's Reef.   BuccaneerBash.info to register.  Be sure to select whether you want to do the Offshore or the Bay Race. We will have colored pirate flags to identify each class of registrants.  And lots of Texas Navy Rum to give away.

The NOR will be amended to reflect that Saturday's pursuit starts will be around 2 pm and not 11 am.  Pursuit racers will receive a Buccaneer Bash class flag to distinguish their class.

Class flags have arrived...trophies are in production,... the Texas Navy Rum is on its way.  Join the Heald Bank offshore race on Friday the 28th, or join us for a casual Pirates Pursuit Race Saturday the 29th followed by a pig roast and entertainment by Hanna's Reef.   BuccaneerBash.info

Start making plans now to shake out those offshore sails!   Harvest Moon is still five months away but in less than two months from now you can race offshore and then party with Hanna's Reef in the air-conditioned comfort of the Lakewood Ballroom.  The Heald Bank Regatta is set for the last weekend in June, with another Friday start, followed by a Saturday pig roast and awards party; if you are not ready for an offshore challenge, join the Pirates' Pursuit that Saturday in the bay, then come out and join the Pirates' Pig Roast. Visit BuccaneerBash.info for more information and to register or reserve table for you and your crew.

For the Heald Bank Regatta, sponsor Bay Media Group has provided 16 oz. Tritan plastic insulated tumblers and lids.  LYC gave these insulated tumblers to crew members of the Harvest Moon Regatta in recent years as part of our Clean Regatta program, and we will be doing it again, thanks to support from various sponsors.
The Heald Bank Tumbler will be available as mementos of the Buccaneer Bash and Pirates Pig roast awards party that follows the race, but for any Heald Bank skipper who will provide water in a 5 gallon container (or similar) for crew during the race, we can provide that skipper tumblers for his crew at the skippers' meeting.
The  Buccaneer Bash pig roast wristbands are available to anyone who likes to party, and coordinating striped pirate shirts are on sale in the regatta store at https://www.regattanetwork.com/clubmgmt/applet_storefront.php?regatta_id=17208&clear_session=1

Looking forward to going back to Port Aransas.
But in the meantime, Heald Bank is copying some of the good times from the HMR party at Lakewood last year, so check out the Bay Cup II and the Heald Bank Regatta Buccaneer Bash and Pirates Pig Roast in August for great tune ups for HMR.  We have pirate Tshirts and insulated tumblers and a great luau ala pirate-style pig roast menu.  And Andy and the Dreamsicles, thanks to support from Texas Navy Rum which is being introduced in conjunction with the Texas Navy Trophy.
Hope you will join in the fun, whether you buy a wristband for the pig roast or just come for the awards and music and fun.

Does anyone know of a boat that will be at the start but not racing?  Point Glas cannot make it this year so we would like to know who else might be out there Thursday.
