Pleasure Pier Day at Texas Race Week:
The race on Thursday, July 25th will take the boats close to the Historic Galveston Pleasure Pier. Discounted admission to the Pleasure Pier will be available to all GBCA members on Thursday. A reserved area at the end of the pier will provide an exceptional place to watch the race.
Will tee shirts be available at the rum race this weekend? ;D

Not this weekend. Probably not until Rum Race 5.
But if you want to reserve some, let me know the size and I'll make sure you get them.
Do I get any points for being first to sign up? I need a few.

Nice.
Texas Race Week is fast approaching. This should be a great race and help determine the Texas Navy Cup! Get signed up! If you do not want to race, consider volunteering to help with set up and take down for the great after race parties. Ed "edthemainsailguy" Kangas has already signed up to volunteer. Help Ed, myself, and the rest of the GBCA Board members put on another great GBCA event.

Just talked to Stephanie at the Yacht Basin. If you want a slip with power, you better get on the ball.
Plenty of room on the breakwater though, and it's free.
Nice Cannon!

Nice looking newsletter!
We were just informed that we are on a waiting list for a slip with power. There are 11 boats on the list for 8 slips with electricity.
:o 15 boats :o
I really enjoy this race. It has been fun sponsoring through 3fbs.com. Should be some fun parting getting ready to take place and I have my event passes. Tramp is ready to go! See you in Galveston!

Party venue change:Due to some unforeseen and unexpected circumstances, we have moved the venue for the Thursday and Friday post-race activities. I think these changes will actually be better anyway. Details are still being worked out, but here is what we know so far.
- Thursday - post-race happy hour at The Rum Shack (http://www.thespotgalveston.com/), which is on the roof of The Spot on the Galveston Seawall. 1800-2000.
- Friday - Pizza party on the Tall Ship Elissa and Texas Seaport Museum. We will have access to about half of The Elissa (the rest is under renovation) and the entire museum. Open rum bar and beer. 1900-2230.
- Saturday - same as before - Awards banquet and dinner at the Yacht Basin Pool. Cash bar and free beer. 1800-2200.
Remember you need to sign up for an event pass to attend these parties. Only $25. Sign up here. (http://www.gbca.org/EventsDisabled?eventId=712956&EventViewMode=EventDetails)
;D "parting", yea that's how you spell partying .... See I have already started! :-*

Scotty, bad Scotty!
Us old pharts like phartys, I mean partys.

NY Pizza Sandwich PreOrder Form is available. Linky (https://www.regattanetwork.com/clubmgmt/regatta_uploads/7063/TRWSandwichOrderForm2013.pdf)
Please complete the order form and bring it to the Skipper's meeting to be collected and then we will turn them in to NY Pizza next Tuesday.
As we have done in the past, the sandwich orders will be picked up by a designated TRW Volunteer each morning and delivered to GYB dock area near where the sailboats and pier are, for pickup by boat crew between 8:30am and 9:00am each morning.
17 Boats! ;D
;) 19 boats :o

:D 20 boats! :o
I am impressed! You guys are the greatest and GBCA IS a great place to race!
Actually, GBCA IS THE PLACE TO RACE. Best on the bay by far. Where else can you get all we get for just $130/year?
Love it.
Can we go for 25?
$25 is what the event pass is. Sweet! Well it looks like 19 boats unless Dave has two boats named Airborne. Go Dave!
Still 19 is an impressive group of race boats. Is it Wednesday yet so we can leave Seabrook?!?
See you at the start line. ;D
John
Still waiting on Aeolus. Hello James? James?
I thought we were waiting on Shaken not Stirred!?!
;D

Will be leaving tomorrow for the islands (galveston!) and looks like it will be one great race! Really looking forwards to the after race venues and looks like there will be plenty of party go'ers.
See you from the pleasure pier! We will see what that camera will do...

Regarding the party on SATURDAY at GYB pool area:
I just found out that the GYB cash bar is just that - CASH ONLY - no plastic.
There is an ATM by the bait store.
(Jeez. Even GBCA takes credit cards these days.)
What a weekend! Tramp is back home. John and I had a wonderful putt-putt back home Sunday. Thanks to all that made TRW 2013 a great success. Kathy Rodgers and Beverly Caldwell knows how to make it happen. Walter Caldwell pulled some rabbits out of his cap this weekend. I want to thank all the help on Tramp this weekend. Chris Dees did a great job of getting all the races off without a hitch as well as my deck hand on the anchor. Kelley Dees (as always),Christina Tuma, Denise Christensen, Elsa Butler, and Lauren Christensen (who took most of the pictures on Saturday, Thanks!) John's Flickr site is [uhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/lacyphotos/sets/rl][/url] and http://www.flickr.com/photos/lacyphotos/sets/72157634788539155/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/lacyphotos/sets/72157634788539155/) . If you would like any of the pictures (100%), email me at sailsong@swbell.net. Thanks to all the Board for a great effort in making the venues work. Thanks to Amy Gray and Ed Kangas for showing their support with their help.
Again, support our sponsors, without them we don't race!
