Of course there are certain women that have required all of their crew to wear grass skirts and coconuts....or prom dresses....or bikinies.

In accordance with the NOR, we do not hear protests for these races.  If you feel someone has violated the rules it is your responsibility to take it up with them directly for resolution.  Posting your grievences here is fine but it is not going to cause any action to be taken, that rests soley on your shoulders to have a discussion in person.

To insinuate that the membership of GBCA has no integrity is a totally inappropriate comment.

General Discussion / Tervis Tumblers
August 06, 2010, 10:29:01 AM
Just wanted to let everyone know that this is one company is that walks their talk.  I dropped my GBCA tumbler (probably for the 10th time) a few weeks ago and it cracked on the top with the inner and outer layers coming completely apart.

Jumped on their website, downloaded a form, stuck the broken tumbler and form in an envelope and mailed it back to them in Florida.  Low and behold when I got home last night there was a little box containing a new GBCA tumbler - they had salvaged the burgee from the old one and put it in a new one.  My only cost was a pittance for USPS to mail it to them.

Shameless plug - don't forget to buy yourself a GBCA tumbler - you are only out of money if you lose it!

Scott - that is probably the ideal situation!  You can't disagree about what you don't hear.

They also come with every "Just shut up and drive" shirt.

Thanks for sharing - those are some great pics.  The one of the kites and the seawall in the background is chamber of commerce stuff!

Thanks for the clarification Scott.  I agree that sometimes it can be a little intimidating for the new party comers - they are walking into a room of people, many of which have known each other for a very long time.  GBCA regulars all need to try and reach out to those new faces and get to know some new people.  Our clubhouse has been more jam packed than ever this year and it makes it very hard to mingle but everyone can make a point of introducing themselves to one new face at each event.  Who knows, you might end up with some new crew, learn something new or make a new friend!  Newcomers, it is a large, loud, crazy group - don't be afraid to wade in there and talk to someone from a boat that you recognize from the course - I think that you will find most everyone to be very friendly.  Tell those folks to come back again Scott, they come to a few parties and they will feel like regulars.
