Many thanks to the race committee and all those that helped on RR # 7. The wind was fluky, but for most the time there was wind at least, and the food at the club house was great.  My motor died on the way out in the creek and FIGARO gave me a tow to the line, and DOLCETTO gave us a tow from the creek to the slip, and TRAMP was ready to help if needed as well! By midnight that same night, I fix the fuel problem and KATANA was running well again. Many thanks again to FIGARO, DOLCETTO and TRAMP, what great bunch of sailors, and great cub(GBCA) for bring us all together.  ?KATANA?

(And yes I do have Tow-boat US but it  always is good to be towed by a friend)

Great food, and a lot fun people. Great photos, just wish I had a photo of Wondering Star and I at the finish, it would look great on my man cave wall.  Almost caught them, great looking kite WS. Sailing does not get much better than this, many thanks to all that make it happen! ?KATANA?

I will have my wife put it on the list of things to do, Scott. We drove around the lake today, wish I had a boat here.We rented a very nice house on the water just past Zephyr Cove, my wife has named it the super pad! If any one needs a recommed of a place to stay, I would highly recommend this place, but it,s pretty pricey! See you all on RR #4, my thanks to my crew for keeping me in the numbers, great job. Hope they will let me back on my boat!Terry

I was on Cache? and I notice the spot tracker not working late in the game, way after we reset it, and realized the batteries die. Luckily one of our crew members(Denny) wife was following us on a personal spot tracker that Andrea was in contact with and saw, all was well and we were able to finish first place in our class. Gulfport was a great place and everyone was very helpful. And the race committee did a great job as always. Andrea, Jim, Sam, and all the others, that stayed up all hour keeping a watchful eye on use making sure we were safe, many thanks! Terry Young

KATANA was 07:33:40. When will the final results be posted. It appeared that some boats were not flying there class flag, it makes it hard to tell who you are racing against, or not and even harder if you are doing the scoring. SI are - ?Yachts racing in the Rum Series shall clearly display their class flag(s) from the backstay or other prominent visible position on the stern of the yacht throughout the race?. I was fouled by one boat that I gave way to, to avoid hitting them, and found out later that he was in my class, and scored, which took me out of the numbers, and was not even registered.

Galveston Bay Area Racing / Re: TMCA Ed Herndon

Ed H. was a great guy and  sailor, if you never met him you? should have?, he volunteered in many community sailing events, like Sea Born, that took out troubled teens out sailing and inspired them to do better. And as well as helping take out Boy Scouts on their Hunter 43 ?Remedy? so they could learn to Sail and get there sailing badges. He also raced in a many Harvest Moon Race( he was always a real cut up). I sure there are many other things as well, that I am not aware of but hope to hear of them on this web site. He and his wonderful wife Marian would often sit on their porch at SEA Gate Condos( this is where the Wed. night committee is docked at)  and watch the Wednesday Night Races. I plan to wear a ?Remedy? crew shirt on the Gulfport race this week in his memory. Ed, You will be missed!!   :-(

Crew Finder / Looking to crew for the Gulfport Race
April 05, 2012, 10:53:11 AM
Looking to crew for the Gulfport Race! I am a 52(will turn 53 in the race) year male, 6?1? tall 220 lb.  and I am the Captain and owner of ?Katana?( Hunter 34), I have be in over ten Harvest Moon Races, and the four times I have entered my boat, I have trophy every time. I have also trophy in the GBCA, Rum Races, and the Icicle Races as well. I have been crewing in the Wednesday Night Race on Clearlake for about twelve years now, and I have been crew for the fleet champion, for a number of years. I raced in Vera Cruz Race in 2002 and made in time for the party.  I will not be able to help bring your boat back, but believe I have someone to take my place for the return. If you need more crew I may be able to bring in some of my crew, or friends. Terry Young 281-285-8933, e-mail is   tyoung@sugar-land.oilfield.slb.com

What a great first Wed. night race. When I first saw the committee boat I noticed something different, at first I thought it lighting rod, and thought I would take a picture of it and send it to sailing Anarchy for there column, ?what is it? , but by the end of the it was clear, ?it?s a class flag pole? well done Scott, keep up the good work. I know you and your race committee will all they can to make this another fun year of Wed. Night Racing. Terry
