Chris

I think there was a mistake in the Club tie breaker Skalawag should have been first and FireWater second. Both had two first place ( 10 points each ), but Skalawag next high was a second place( 4 points ) and FireWater had two second places( 2 + 2 = 4 points ), so Skalawag had the higher next score for the tie breaker. I have crewed for Walter ( FireWater) and he has crewed for me (KATANA) and he is a good friend put he is true sportsman. I hope I am wrong about this, but I believe that I am rite, so I have brought it to your attention. I know you have a lot on you plate trying to score all the groups in a short amount of time, so the chances of a mistake is increased.  "KATANA"

Notice I am not doing well this year, I am training a new crew of new poeple(non-racers) in hope of bring more people to the joy of club racing, and they are starting to enjoy it, now that it is starting to warm up. So I hope show improvement and lower that rating, and maybe if lady luck is with us, let them feel "the force"of the kite. Now go buy a kite, so you can feel "the force" to! "KATANA"

Spinnakers may help you, but if you do not know what you are doing it can hurt your speed, leaving it open in the club class opens your mind to learn how to fly a kite and experience something new in sailing or just scares the sh#t out of you. I have won races with and without a kite, I have passed boats flying a kite went I was not. FireWater pulled to first places in a row without a kite. I say leave it open, to encourage others to feel ?the force? of the kite. By no means am I an expert with a kite or an expert sailor, but when I have a kite up and flying it rite, I am in my happy place! Last year I have seen more Cub Class trying kites that would not have ever tried if the class was not open, so this is a good thing. Now go out and have fun and flight a kite! ?KATANA?

Sorry I missed out on Marilyn?s chili, I was giving my Mother an 80 birthday party. But sounds like Marilyn?s chili was hotter than ?FireWater? ;-), sorry Walter you know I had to say that! Looks like Skalawag found a pen and score sheet , well done, and it look like Leopard is coming on strong, great job Jim, Bob and crew. See you all on Ice# 4, full speed ahead!  ?KATANA?

Another fun race, wind range 3 to 25 knot winds, someone at the party said they saw 32 knot. And that fog I could not see the range mark till I was within 300 feet of it. And the fog reminded me of some horror movie I use to watch, and was expecting a zombie to come out or the fog and board my boat at any time. And the chili at the party was great, my thanks to cooks.  Great sailing FireWater( first place again) when they change you?re rating for the next race, I bet have you starting on ?Sunday? to give us all a chance. And Figaro that?s a nice kite. Can?t think any were else I rather be, than sailing with you all. ?KATANA?

Fun but cold race, congratulations to Fire Water and her first place! But you know the only reason you made it out of the dock Shawn was because, I had my diver cut 8 inches off your keel, he will but I back on in the fall. Breaking  in new crew on KATANA(lost half of them to FireWater), hope to do better on Ice #2. Well done Walter, I will bring the beer I owe you on Saturday.
On another note love the new calendar! I was looking at it Saturday night and was enjoying looking at all the great photos on each month and thinking how great it would to make the calendar one year, and so I put it on my bucket list and closed calendar, and there on the front page was KATANA with her kite up( how sweet is that) heading for the finish line! Great shot, were can I buy more calendars and how much are they?

My wife(Carol) came up with a better idea, go back to crewing on KATANA, no more worries about low water!
Let the fun begin!!!!!!!!! Just add water!
