At ten minutes before 12:00, the RC counted down the official clock over the radio, and then again at 12:00, so everyone should have been able to see if their clock was in sync.

On a side note, it was entertaining to see how many people thought they were winning at the time of abandonment...

Do you have a link, or some steps to reproduce the problem?  I would like to figure out if there is still an issue.

The site is back on line, but here's the link:

I do not think Bee's calendar is correct. The GBCA Calendar shows the Performance Cup to be in March, not September.

It is correct.  The Performance Cup has been moved to March.

We had everything go wrong last Saturday --- including getting spectacularly fouled by Press to Meco --- so ours would have been ugly.

I will try to remember.  I got a new iPhone so will have to check and see if the app is still there.

It came within about three seconds of being "Crunch to Meco" !

Well I guess we would have seen that! By the way what happened to the results?

Your name was called but don't remember the place.

In the wee hours of the night, why would you risk going within a mile or two of something like that?  It's a 35000 mile race!

Might be a plan.

Two different crews. Four on the J22, three on the sonar, or visa versa.  Each club supplies a boat and the crews swap boats between races so no one can claim uneven boats.  Works pretty good and is interesting to watch.

Thanks Chris A. and Scott!  Good job!

Galveston Bay Area Racing / New Hazard
October 01, 2014, 11:03:31 AM
Butch Boos from C&C sails forwarded a message from one of his customer about a new hazard.

"Just a heads up.  Yesterday I found a new hazard in the bay.  A pipe has been pulled up and is standing about 2 feet above the surface. It was not there on Friday but its there today.  The pipe is located at 29o30.807? N by 94o55.064? W.   Not too hard to see on calm day but in any waves it will be difficult to spot.  In addition, the post is a distraction.  I was paying attention to the post and did not see pipe until I was 50 or 60 feet away. "

Plotting it, it appears to be about 500 ft west of our Rum Race Mark SM54.

I plotted another pipe NE of H Mark, at approximately 29? 33.990N-94? 56.114W
