NOR and Registration for Bay Cup I (March 3) are available at
www.regattanetwork.com
The course selection differs significantly from that of previous years since the Coast Guard does no longer permit crossing the Houston Ship Channel in a racing manner.
We will offer different lines, all in Galveston Bay, west of the ship channel:
A distance course with pursuit start for the Classic Canvas, SOS, Multihull and Pole less Cruising Spinnaker classes. (One or two races).
Standard timed starts will be offered for PHRF non-spin, PHRF spin and One Design classes. (Up to three races).
We intend to set distance courses for PHRF non spin, W/L courses for One Design classes and a combination for PHRF spin. (Course configuration will be fine tuned with feedback from various fleet captains.)
J 80's and J 105's may consider this a tune up for upcoming races.

In case you have had trouble finding it, the notice of race is here:

At this point we have 11 veterans matched up to race on nine sail boats. We can accommodate the remaining three on committee boats but Jim Apple tells me that they all would rather race.
Can we find three more sail boats to help out?
Thanks,
GW
No TOMA cats/tris this year?
Never mind, I caught up with the scuttlebutt on the TOMA yahoo discussion site. Several comments on why the Coast Guard is dictating where we race, Galveston Bay being a public area...
