Whether you believe it or not, I do understand the rules.

I was and always am concerned about the potential for injury.  First thing any owner must be concerned about is that. Fortunately, as far as I know, none of Stinger's crew was seriously injured. Two of the five were in the water hanging on to stanchions. With all those lines free, anything could have happened. Nevertheless they calmly recovered and dodged the rest of the bullets on the way back to slip :).

Boats and Chutes are just $$$ and easily replaced. If your going to race you must accept the price in every aspect. But the hardware is easy to replace.  People are another matter entirely. Sitting here all locked up from surgery, I know what it would be like to get seriously injured, wind up in hospital and not be able to sail for an extended period. >:(

What I did not understand at first was when the carnage happened.  As it was toward the end nothing much could or should have been done. I remember getting blasted in one of these just after the start.  The then Commodore could be heard screaming over channel 68 that the race was officially canceled and everyone should get off the Bay ASAP.  I think that race was won by Roy Crawford on The Great Escape. :D

Sounds like this race should have been called.

Kevin just verified that that was Stinger's brand spanking new 110 sq. mt. chute.

Absolutely Kid Friendly.  Wonderful fun.

Just an FYI.

The cannon on the flag on the Cannon, as it were, it one of what eventually was called the Twin Sisters.  They were actually found by a friend of mine, Dr Patrick Wagner (MD), from my home town (Shiner).  He devoted most of his life to finding artifacts like this and was pretty successful.

Pat's father, Frank, delivered me.

Definitely a wonderful Cannon.  Only problem is that Jody put this picture of this strange Old Phart on it with some kind of reference to a Mr. something or the other.  I think that guy's name is actually Bee but then what the hell do I know.

Anyway, you guys are going to have to beat Kevin this time.  The Old Phart will be in physical therapy for this one.  If he feels good enough, he might try to get the BW to haul him down for a party or two but that's the best he will be able to do.  That in and of itself is very very iffy.

Best thing would bee (sp) if the rest of you worthless boat owner would sign up to make this into the wonderful event it usually is.  I can definitely vouch for the excellence of the rum, the beer, the sailing, and the fun.

What's not to like?

And I agree about FireFox.  Very nice professional browser.  On Mac's the new Safari 4 is also interesting.  IE on a Mac just stinks.

Thanks goodness everyone is at least recovering.

Yacht Club Manager huh?  Seems he needs boating lessons. :'(

Anyone know exactly how this happened.  I never understand how a high-speed power boat can do something like this; especially a press boat supposedly covering the event. >:(

Looking at the entrant list I am amazed that there are so few boats.  Is this becoming a spin-only-big-boat series?  Come on out folks.  The bar is great the food is great the docking is great---and---unlike the bay the water is actually very clear.  What's not to like? ::)

Oh my exalted broad one!  How is Rome these days?

I agree with Chris and Jim.  We should encourage sailing and not saleing   :)

Definitely the winner.  What does the broad one get?

Agreed.  I like the shot of the IMX.  It will be hot as hell here when you get back.  Enjoy the cool.
