Very well said Bee! I agree with you completely.

WNR and Rum/Icicles draw a good crowd because of the laid back racing and mostly the low cost involved. I do believe one day regattas seem to work better for most people. I also believe some two day regatta are warranted. This allows out of town competitors to join our fun and to help Galveston Bay racing a better venue for all the clubs.

I personally don't race regattas too much. Being the slowest boat tends to hold up the action. That is where a distance race works best for me. But.. I must say, being on a start line with 10 other boats is exciting and fun to watch.

Has anybody ever used the new plastic fuel tanks? Better to get an aluminum tank? Ideas?

I don't believe Suzy was being critical of anyone, but trying to promote "Community Sailing Center Galveston" http://ssbgalveston.org/community.php . It took me a couple of times to also understand the connection. CSCG is another fine organization that caters to the sailing public. They have Wednesday Night Races and open Saturday sailing, all for a reasonable fee. It is also the home of "Sea Scout Base Galveston". CSCG has very nice facilities and if I lived in the Galveston area, it would be a good alternative to not owning a boat. I do agree with Miss Pris that owning and racing a boat does not leave a lot of free time OR money!

Wind was a little too much for Flying Kiss but was able to secure a ride on Bad Girl. Here are a few photos from the second leg. The Melges was hauling it! https://www.flickr.com/photos/lacyphotos/albums/72157661796754324

I was way too late coming out for the finish of Icicle #2. I did not expect everyone to finish that fast. Looked like a nice smooth ride  :o. Here are the few photos I got. https://www.flickr.com/photos/lacyphotos/albums/72157663193548342

Thanks Gerhard, Linda, and Walter! We got about 200 feet from it and it was just too risky for Tramp. Thanks again!
