I checked the link on the homepage and it seems to go to Regatta Network as it should (both Explorer and Firefox). The events page does not take you to the RN page. I tried to figure it out, but it seems to be above my pay grade. I will see if Darin can figure it out.
Thanks!

General Discussion / Re: J Kevin Box
August 06, 2015, 09:33:14 PM
Kevin was quite proud of the GBCA Cruising Class. He worked very hard at growing it and making it work. Every Commodore before and after Kevin is always trying to grow membership. Kevin's Cruising Class has been very successful.
We might all fly the orange flag in his honor this Saturday. We would still need to fly our class flag with the addition of the orange flag beneath your class. The Cruising Class could fly two!
Now Kevin would not like you to all go buy a flag, but most everybody has an orange PFD. Raise a toast after your finish and honor our friend Kevin Box.
It will be hot this weekend, so don't over indulge in the heat. Kevin was all about safety. Let's all be members a long time.

The Juniors are racing Saturday! There still is time to get your kids involved in the GBCA Junior Regatta. There are all size boats signed up in the non-spin class. Your kids and boats will fit right in! It will be hot, but so will the racing! :o

Your forum "Jr. Member" is figured by the amount of posts you have made in the past. Not sure how many posts count to get it changed. It was the same on the old forum. Check out Bee's "membership". The only thing that seems to not have come over from the old version is the Avatars. You can still add an avatar.
Logging in on the forum has always been separate from the .org page. You can click "forever" when you login and it should keep you logged in.

Don't forget you have to log into the forum if you want to reply to a thread. If you forgot your id and password (like me), do the "forgot your password" thing after clicking "login".

Galveston Bay Area Racing / Re: 2015 Rum Races

Photos https://www.flickr.com/photos/lacyphotos/sets/72157654456588029 and Missy video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMeK3doADnU from GBCA Cruzan Rum Race 2. It was a great day on the bay. We headed out to the "E" mark to get some pictures and video, but it was too rough for our beverages. So to preserve our beverages, we returned to the start/finish line. Much nicer and made for a great place to view the race. Thanks to everyone who came out to race and participate in the Racing Seminar presented by Dave Christensen. If you would like the 100% sized photos, send me an email at sailsong@swbell.net.
Thanks to Marilyn Horton for the great after party food and selling GBCA goods. We hope everybody had a good time. Remember, your membership makes this all possible. Please keep your membership current and if you are not a member, consider signing up. If there is some things you would like changed, consider volunteering to serve on the Board of Governors. With only four months to new elections, your help and input will make "GBCA The Place to Race!".

Photos from Saturday Cruzan Rum Race 1. Jimmy Peck took the majority of the photos while I flew Missy. https://www.flickr.com/photos/lacyphotos/sets/72157654171753412

"Missy" video from GBCA's Cruzan Rum Race 1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMgTpd46vkc .

Sorry I was not able to get the later boats. I took 12 minutes of video at the "H" mark, which did not come out due to a glitch. I thought I was smart being in front of the "H" mark, but everybody stayed up by the Ship Channel. Should have saved the battery for the finish!

General Discussion / Re: Fuel polishing service
May 04, 2015, 06:19:30 PM
I also had Diesel Fuel Maintenance do Tramp just a few weeks ago. We had a fuel leak in the port tank, so had them remove the fuel (120 gals) and polish the starboard tank (180 gal) for a cost of $450. Seabrook will not let you do it at the dock, so we used  Seabrook Shipyard at a nominal fee.

Bee, we have a board meeting Tuesday and that is an excellent idea. It was fun yesterday, but we would be still sailing today to finish!
