To clarify, the meeting at GBCA this Tuesday is not about the future of Wednesday nights. Buddy requested some time to address the Board during our regularly scheduled meeting. Once that is over we will continue with our very busy agenda.

No unfortunately it applies to all Texas waters. That would include Galveston Bay. Freshwater bodies and Clear Lake are NDZs, which means that even if you have a CG approved waste treatment system, like ElectroScan, you cannot discharge the treated waste in those waters. I'm afraid we are all on the hook.

Well said, Brian. You forgot to give kudos to Kevin Box for taking the initiative for the GBCA Club Handicap class and the organization for including them in regattas whenever possible.

Karen, are you really going to let a little bit of wind get in the way of a really fun day?

Okay, I'm a little slow. How do I pull up the image on Google Maps?

We have had a lot of well thought out suggestions about making our regattas more popular and user friendly. Split sym and asso in PHRF Spin. More fixed marks for non spin and Club Handicap. Many other constructive ideas. None of this works if no one registers for the regattas.

Leigh Ann cannot set up classes and courses when only a few boats bother to register until the last minute. I have heard folks say that they are waiting to see what other boats sign up. If everybody does this, which they do, nobody signs up until the last minute.

You would get killer regattas if we had enough advance notice of the number of participants. We are committed to providing the best racing experience on the Bay, and have the assets in place to do so. It will never happen without the cooperation of you, the participants.

Sign up now and let us show you what we can do for you.

General Discussion / Re: Membership Application

Gary,

You are getting the error message because you are trying to create a new membership instead of renewing. First you need to set up a password. At the upper right of the home page, type in your email and click on "forgot password". You will be emailed instructions to create a password. Once you log on with the new password, go to membership application and read the instructions. There is a link for renewals. You do not need a PayPal account to pay, only a credit card. If you want to pay by check that option is available on the payment page by selecting "manual payment".

Good luck. I know you can do it.

No good deed goes unpunished. Ed, why don't you be a sponsor?
