General Discussion / alerion express 28
November 11, 2021, 01:51:51 PM
Does anyone on here have an alerion express 28 that they would let my family and I sit on at the dock this weekend for a few minutes, and possibly look in the cabin?  I'm looking at one out of town and it would save me a ton of time and travel if they decided it was not the boat for them.

Thanks.

Are there any SI restrictions that would prevent a viper 640 from racing phrf on the bay?

Un-Classified Ads / Boat Wanted
March 15, 2018, 10:21:34 AM
Is anyone aware of a J80 or melges24 for sale locally?  Local is as far North as Austin/Dallas and East as NOLA.

I might consider a J70.

Thanks.

Crew Finder / looking for a ride for LYC Heald Bank
April 19, 2016, 08:44:28 PM
I'm looking to crew for the LYC Herald Bank.  I own and race an O30(Wildcard) and have recently been crewing on a J92(Little Joe), also crewed on a J105(Stinger)...it was my introduction to GBCA.  daniel.erklauer@gmail

Thanks

Starting the process of looking for a new (used) boat and looking for a sport boat with an OD fleet in the area, the rest of the time will be spent PHRF racing.  I keep coming back to the J80 because the price and size is right.  With the exception of J fest how is the j80 fleet on Galveston bay?  Are there any other recommendations?

*Wednesday night races are not an option for me.

I've been calling around trying to get quotes to get my topside painted and hull (above waterline). And the numbers that are being tossed around by the yards in the area are beyond stupid.  They range from 200-300/ft for the hull and 400-500ft for the topside. Your rapidly exceeding 25k with those quotes. These numbers seem insanely high for a 30ft boat with no core rot.  Is there anyone in the area that performs work on older boats at a realistic price?

Crew Finder / Experienced Spinnaker trimmer needed
July 06, 2015, 02:32:27 PM
I'm looking for an experienced spinnaker trimmer to come and assist my crew and I for Rum race #3.  You don't have to be a pro but I do need you to be able to perform the task unsupervised, and be able to direct the rest of the crew for the hoist and douse.

Boat is an Olson30 - Bottoms clean and the beers are cold.

Dan:  228.243.4571 call after 5pm or text before then.

Is it possible to include the first place finish times for each class with the rum race results?  Currently there is no way of gauging progress (or lack of) for those of us in the middle/end of the pack.

What time is the BASIC SAILBOAT RACING SEMINAR this Saturday?  The page has two time different start times 9:30 and 10:30.
