General Discussion / Looking to contact David Cathcart
October 14, 2014, 11:32:36 AM
I saw that David Cathcart (Waterford Harbor) entered the HMR with an O'day, but did not list witch model. With a PHRF spin rating of 204 I suspect it was a 28.

I'd like to talk to him about his experience off shore with his boat.

So anyone who knows David, please forward my email kwm77573(at)yahoo(dot)com to him.

Thanks,
Kent

The sailing instructions references the SOS-Tex bylaws... doing a Google search returns a website appears to have been inactive for many years. Is there somewhere where the SOS-Tex bylaws can be found. I didn't see them on the site.

Thanks

General Discussion / Electric motors
September 26, 2011, 10:09:06 AM
Anyone on here have an electric inboard or outboard as aux power?

I may need to do something about the outboard on my Catalina 25 and have been reading about electric outboards and would be interested in talking to someone who actually has an electric outboard or inboard.

Clear Lake Sailing Club is hosting Waiting for the Great Pumpkin Regatta on Clear Lake Oct 8th (one day event).

Currently there will be a Portsmouth start and a Catalina 22. Other classes may be added as interest dictates.

We will try for 5 races Saturday afternoon followed by BBQ at the White Pavilion after the races.

One more time for the lake boats to get out and play!

General Discussion / Sailmakers

I am looking for recommendations/contact information for local sail lofts. I have already been in contact with C&C and am interested in contacting other local lofts about sails.

Thanks,
Kent

Crew Finder / looking to crew
June 16, 2010, 08:40:53 AM
Looking to crew on a race boat (J105/J109 or similar) for the remainder of the year.?. Specifically:
HYC Leukemia Cup
GBCA Texas Race Week (maybe)
LYC Harvest Moon
HYC Turkey Day Regatta

I would like to also try crewing sometime on a smaller boat (J24).

I?ve crew on cruisers for the past 6 months in:
HYC Turkey Day, HYC Double Handed, Icicle Series(all 5 races), Elissa Regatta, Heald Bank, and Shoe Regatta.

I spent 1 day on a J105 (Zippity) during the frostbite.

I can probably make most of the remaining Rum Races.

Looking for opportunities to crew. Male age 42. I've completed BKB and sailed sunfish type boats as a kid.

I'm am available almost every weekend. Might even be able to do some longer trips in 2010.

Ideally I'd like to get with a boat that will be competing in the Wednesday night races next year.  I can be available every Wednesday in 2010.
