Title: Vendee Globe
Post by: gwittich on January 27, 2014, 10:34:48 PM
682 NM/24 hrs during the single hand Vendee Globe. (28.4 NM average;)
Armel Le Cleac'h on the 105 ft trimaran Banque Populaire.
Frenchman with cojones mas grandes!
(I hope he doesn't enter the GBCA orange class this Saturday.)

Would be interesting to see though.

I would still like to see someone fly a moth around the course.

Super impressive, but to be clear.  Armel is on a maxi-trimaran challenging the Route of Discovery record across the Atlantic not on an Open 60 in the Vendee.

Francois Gabart did set the solo monohull record in the last Vendee Globe.  545 miles.

Both are ridiculously fast.

Oh thank you Jay.  What a great complement.  Just think of how much my ballast would help.

My biggest problem would be learning how to sail the damn thing.

I wanna see an expert do it.
