Title: 2010 J80 Worlds
Post by: Kaos on October 08, 2010, 01:55:32 PM
Unofficial results of the j80 Worlds! Looks like Spain got Team Quantum in the tie breaker for the Championship, But some great sailing by Scott Young and Terry Flynn!  Also Jay Lutz and Glenn Darden form FWBC were flying fast all week too. Bill and Forbes did a great job on Kicks as well as Al on Andale!   Weather was 15 knots plus all week and really wild the last day got up too 30 knots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know anything except what I read on that link, but if those scores posted are correct, TFlynn and crew would win the tie breaker by way of their 2 first place finishes.

These scores are not official but probably closer to official than the other ones. They show TFlynn in second 2 points behind the Spanish boat.

Team Quantum with four of our favorite Texas sailors had one heck of a Regatta last week at the J/80 Worlds.  I know I was unable to get any work done following along on Sailing Updates. Here's an interview with Scott Young that I thought you might enjoy:

Scott's blogspot page with his write up on the event!

Hope that you enjoy this interview.  It's long but I feel there is a lot of good stuff in regards to how the event unfolded for Team Quantum, training, approach, tactics, and party info.  Hope that you enjoy it!
