Title: Close Call
Post by: ChrisK on July 12, 2009, 06:53:49 AM
A cable on one of the HYC cranes snapped yesterday with an Ensign attached. Luckily it was over the water, nobody hurt. Made an ugly sound as boat and lifting frame went splash.

Maybe we should weigh that Ensign?  :P

If I'm not mistaken HYC has 3-ton cranes.  An Ensign only weighs about 3,300 pounds I think?

The only thing that could account for the 2,700lb weight difference is if the owner accidentally left a full cooler on board.  We nearly had the same issue when we weighed the 105's.

the cooler size would depend on who's Ensign it was...  :'(

Surely none of the members of the local fleet would deny his/her crew such a small cooler?   :-\
