We have recently moved here from the UK, our boat is a Hanse 370. My wife and myself have raced our boat before, mostly we race it by ourselves but have taken complete novices on the boat and raced.
There is a race requirement to have four people on the boat.
All we require from our crew is a willingness to participate.
If you would like to take part in this race please contact us on karen.phill@hotmail.co.uk or call me on 281 250 8517.
We would like to meet you and sail with you before the actual event. We sail most weekends from Seabrook Marina

Welcome to Galveston Bay! You found the right place!
A great warmup/shakedown for you and your potential HMR crew would be the GBCA Races: 8/10, 9/20, 9/24
The Rum Racing is fairly simple, fixed mark. 13 nm or so.

The post race parties at the GBCA Clubhouse at Watergate are alot of fun, bring the crew!
GBCA is a very casual (non-yachtie, all volunteer) group that are passonate about all kinds of sailing.
It's a well travelled group, and many of the folks you'll meet have extensive blue water experience from all around the world, including the Harvest Moon...(as well as a few UK ex-pats!)
For the rum race, you could try out the Club Handicap. Free to register!

Read the SIs, register, get yourself an orange flag to fly astern (anything will work) and you're good to go.
You might also want to look into getting a PHRF-GB certificate for the Hanse. Beautiful boat!
