Post by: Terry Young on January 13, 2010, 01:13:00 PM
I called Bluewater Tuesday ,and they said they were closing. It is my favorate toy store. I will miss Barbra and Jay they were always so helpful. Many thanks to all that worked there!

Hate to see another locally owned business fold.
Over the years, Blue Water had been a longtime supporter of the racing scene.
Not only GBCA, but the other clubs as well.
For example, (many years ago) they stepped up and filled in as sponsor for the Shoe Regatta. I still have that pair of hard earned shoes

Clear Lake looses yet another institution *sniff*

Okies
Tookies
Bill and Maries
Maribelles (the original)
Seabrook Beach Club
The Outpost
now Blue Water?

I'm sure there are more to add to this list...

Yup, this one hurts.  Only place I could consistently find what I needed or have them figure out how to get it for me.

Add South Shore Beer Garden and The Sandbar to the GONE list as well.

Boatshoes Unlimited
Rose's (the original - you couldn't beat the "atmosphere")

Wish we were having this conversation about Fertitaville instead of our favorite local busineses

And pre Fertitaville used to such a nice collection of Texacana.  All those nice funky places.  Gone.  What do we have to replace them? Fertitaville!

The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.

What about Blackburn?  Weren't they related?
