It has changed back and forth a couple of times.  Lately, the One Way began after the clubhouse, now it begins before it.

Just want to let everyone know, Watergate has put up new signs and the road in front of GBCA is now One Way.  Please keep this in mind when leaving the parties. Cops have been patrolling.

Howard,

We are happy to carry on your traditions.  Enjoy the flag and thank you for the kind words, they will be shared at the ball.  Wish we would be seeing you there.

George,

I'm in total agreement with you.  I prefer the windward/leeward courses.  Fixed are fine for the Rum Races, Icicle Series and Bay Cups, however keeping non-spin racers in the "thick of it" is a good thing.
I voted!

A reminder once again.  February 27th is the Commodore's Ball.  You do not have to be a member to attend.  We have extended the deadline to February 12th for the $50.00 fee.  For those of you who may think this is a typical GBCA after race social gathering...it is not!  This is a semi-formal event with a catered meal, full bar (ok, basically a full bar) and live entertainment by Robert Frith.  We will also be handing out the awards for the 2009 Rum Race Series, 2010 Icicle Series and 2009 Perpetual Awards.  Please sign up early as it does help out with the head count for catering and bar.

Thanks,
Kathlyn

Glad you asked Eric.  The Commodore's Ball will be from 6:00PM--11:00PM.  The attire will be semi-formal.  Most men will be wearing suits, or slacks with suit jackets and ties.  Some will even wear tuxes.  Most women will be wearing dresses or pant suits.  We try to get everyone away from "racing attire".
The event will include happy hour, dinner, awards and dancing.  It's ALWAYS a good time!!!
Hope to see you there

Yes, we (I) have been too lax in updating the Perpetual Trophy recipient list.  I will take care of it this week.  Thanks for the reminder.

Aloha!  Ok, we now have 10 boats entered.  Hopefully the weather will somewhat cooperate with us.  Remember that this is a Hawaiian Themed Regatta.  In addition to the regular awards, there will be awards for the "Best Dressed Crew" at check-in and the "Best Coconuts".  Skipper's meeting is tomorrow night.
Mahalo!
