All - if you can't sail in the rum race this weekend - hopefully, you will be able to attend this fundraiser!

The GB Sail and Power Squadron is a non-profit group that provides public boater safety and navigation training, Vessel Safety checks, and regularly surveys various areas of the bay in order to ensure that NOAA has the best information possible with which to create their charts.

In order to fund these very publicly oriented activities, they hold one fund raising function a year, and this year, it is an auction, with both silent and live components. This year, it is open to members of other trusted boating organization and marine vendors, it will be held at Lakewood Yacht Club, in their ballroom, on August 4th beginning at 5:00 PM.

All -- after racing on French Connection yesterday (in Kemah Marina) -- Neil put his foulies and gloves on the table at the top of the ramp on his way to the bathroom. When we went to leave, they had walked away.  We're thinking someone just accientally picked them up thinking they were part of their crew's gear or maybe their own foulies.  This is what I want to think anyway because surely someone wouldn't take someone else' s wet, nasty foul weather gear.

If you accidentally picked up some gray foulies in Kemah marina yesterday.  Can you please call me or send me an email?  jody0221 at yahoo dot com

Thanks!

General Discussion / Meet Your Officers
May 25, 2011, 08:28:17 PM
Okay Everyone, I posted a new section on the home page called "Meet Your Officers".  (on the left menu, click on "About Us")

So - I asked the board for biographies, you know -- send me a little bit about yourself and except for Leanne, I didn't hear a peep.

I wrote what I knew but the descriptions are pretty short and well, kinda boring.

Let's make this a GBCA Wikipedia thing.  Keep it clean, and if you have something to add to one of the bios, let me know what it is!!!

This could be interesting.  :)
