Title: Sail Row Dingy
Post by: Maarten on August 14, 2013, 04:52:30 PM
For the 8 and 11 year old kids of friends I am looking for a rowing/sailing dingy. The idea is that we can tow the dingy behind Joan III and when we anchor for lunch/dinner they can get the best sail training available: sailing their own small boat.

Any suggestions?

Indeed. Now a used version of that in a price range that doesn't compete with new sails for Joan III :)

Sign them up over at Seabrook Sailing Club for next to nothing. They have club boats and teach youth sailing. If you want to get your kids fired up over sailing, bring them over to the sailing club on Sept 7th for the largest youth regatta in TX. Last year I think that they had over 100 Optimists out there... boats and kids going everywhere!!!  The Coast Guard will be there and I think that they are even roasting a whole pig this year! it's their Endless Summer Regatta so wear your finest Hawaiian duds if you go!
