Post by: JASpithill on June 07, 2010, 09:32:49 AM
Can anyone recommend someone locally that can repair-replace-install Raytheon instruments?  Thanks.

Hey Jack

I had trouble with my Raytheon when I first got them. To get one taken apart and fixed I had to send it back to Raymarine.  Its a messy process.  You have to call them and get a RMA number and then send it in.  They don't touch anything for less than $100 and are not very user friendly.

Also had a lot of trouble with the anemometer.  Kevin final managed to get it attached properly.  Works OK now.

Depending on where you have them, installing them is usually pretty easy.  Only time you have any serious problem is if you have to cut a hole in the deck.  If your not interested in doing this you might give Kevin Hayes, Scot Tuma, or Tom Meeh a shout.  In the worst case they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Try Doug Markee, who formerly worked for Blue Water Ships Store/SailTech.  He has a vast amount of knowledge and experience.
His number is 832-878-4253.
