Hi all...Jim here from across the bay (south of Oak Island).  I'm looking for information on a sailboat that a friend has become the new owner.  It is a Advance Sweet 16 that was more or less a barn find.  As far as I can tell, it's complete but hasn't seen water in ten years or more.  There are a couple of online groups but nothing local.  Does anyone  know anything about this type of boat?  Are there any local groups sailing them.  Thanks again for any help.  Great site with great info!

Seabrook Sailing Club is probably a better resource. They sail the smaller boats. http://www.seabrooksailingclub.org/

Jim,

Is this the same Sweet 16 that comes out on WNR? We have the most diverse group of boats out. SSC is good, but they focus on more 1D racing. SSC does have some great seminars and programs to get involved in sailing/racing.

Let me know if you have any questions about boat set-up, I can help make sure it is safe to sail.

cheers...
Scott
