I had a leak last month.  I removed the fuel and took the tank to McCarty Radiator in northeast Houston.  They specialize in cleaning and repairing fuel tanks.  They used some type of very hot chemical to clean the inside, then they pressured the tank to isolate the leak.  They re-welded the tank and re-checked it.  I watched TV in the waiting room for 1 1/2 hrs.  $160 cash and I was out the door. We have a 22 gallon aluminum fuel tank.  I also cleaned the pick-up tube and replaced the hose from the tank to the racor filter. I then changed the racor, and filter on the engine.  So far so good. I'm no expert by any means, but you may be getting air in the fuel line. 

Shawn.  They may want to capitalize PORT/STARBOARD as well.  We had to duck away twice during the Rum Races due to certain PHRF Nonspin boats running the line on port. We yelled and they just laughed. I'll never hit a boat just to prove a point.  In any case, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Congrats to you Bee.  Always the first to sign up for the races.  You never let things get in your way.  A true pleasure to know you.  A truly fine dedicated sailor. Now take the rest of the year off.

Patience Ron.  Your one second per mile correction may get posted by Saturday morning.  It appears we have an absentee fleet captain.

The reference was for Ben Miller.  Somehow I didn't word that correctly.  I saw a 1980 Ericson 38 he painted.  She looked like a new boat.

As of 530pm Friday 8/7, 58 have signed up for the Basic sail trim class.  GBCA may need to rent the Kemah Community Center for this one!!

A horned salute at sunset with a rum drink coordinated on channel 69 would be nice. Pick a non race Saturday evening.  Kevin and Johnny moved to Portofino back in 2008. Kevin was the Commodore at the time. We joined GBCA after talking to him and Johnny Jones.  Got hooked very quickly. Attended the race seminar 5/2009. Been hooked ever since. Kevin was a great guy with an infectious smile with just a touch of sarcasm.  He will be missed by all he knew. He was only in his mid-fifties. Perhaps a reminder how precious life truly is.

Looks like a last minute issue.  I counted 20 orange flags last week!  I'm still waiting for the finish times to be posted from last week.
