September 30, 2016, 09:39:25 PM
Cliff Haddox just got the Musica fixed so he can enter the HMR.  He wants to have an all female crew so we can try to get the Luna Trophy.  If you don't know...  Musica was the overall winner of the 2011 Bacardi Cup. Elapsed time was 18:23:05!!!! Got to Port Aransas at 9 on Friday morning!!!

Please drop me a note at liz.biss@gmail.com if you want to crew or if you know of someone who will.

Thanks!!

Wow, great pictures, thank you
and the last on the roll is Windfall. She is a real looker.

Brian

And she was a great deal of fun to sail on.

Thank you for letting me crew.

Wish we could have gotten a couple of more races but it was fun.

Happy Birthday Liz!

Thanks for the great pictures and for the bottle of champagne!!  It was opened before we got to marker #2.

We dubbed the last leg "Mr. Toad's Wild and Wet Ride."  It sure was fun though.  :)

I'm not sure if this technology is worthwhile but...

Admittedly I'm a bit of a techno geek, so I think it's really cool. You certainly could add it to the standard registration process.

Dinner!

Don't know who to thank, so I'll tell you Dwight.  That's was the best regatta dinner I've had at Lakewood or anywhere else.  Please do it again....  and again...

OK, I'll bite:

Where is Kenai, Aeolius, Rebecca, Radiance, a bucket load of j22'2 and j24's, and especially that grind4beer guy?

Where are the 109's?  Why did good Al have to do an 80?

Hmm?

Grind4Beer guy has music rehearsals Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and concerts Friday and Sunday.  He's currently pondering the logistics of racing a J24 on Saturday.

That make two of us, Bill.  :(  Will cook and do anything else required for a berth.  I've done the HMR twice and lots and lots of bay racing - mostly on the J-24 Silver Bullet.

Feel free to call at 214-704-1644

Galveston Bay Area Racing / Luna Trophy for Harvest Moon
September 08, 2011, 05:27:47 PM
I haven't seen anyone mention the All Woman's trophy so far.  Are any of you fine, upstanding (or not) ladies planning on racing?  I'm not nearly ready to skipper a boat and besides a J-24 is too small to enter, but I'd really enjoying crewing on a bigger (and maybe drier) boat.  According to Andrea, this year a male owner's representative will be allowed.

If you are even just thinking about thinking about entering, please get in touch with me.  I even like to cook and I don't get seasick.

The Great Predicted Log Challenge has been canceled that was scheduled this coming Saturday, August 27. The challenge will be re-scheduled in 2012.

Could you suggest the allowed length be decreased?  We'd have entered if we were allowed to.

July is a very busy sailing month for GBCA!

Two rum races:
6/9 and 6/16

Perfect warm up/shake down races to Texas Race Week 7/21-23!

Ummm....  I think that will be 7/9 and 7/16.  Unless we now have a time traveling machine at the pahtees.
