Is it possible to get a .ics version of the calendar?   I would like to put it in my base calendar.

I would like to preorder one of the GBCA t-shirts but when I add to the cart there is a $12.00 shipping charge.  Is that correct?

My current understanding is the the Performance cup Oct 17-18 has been canceled. Yet, I see nothing about this on this site.  If this is the case, please withdraw Stinger form the list of entrants and refund my registration fee.

As I understand the current Icicle rating system, first place gets 5 points, 2nd gets 4 points, 3rd gets 3 points, 4th gets 2 points, 5th gets 1 point, and any other finisher who puts in his time gets 1 point.  Does that mean that the 5th place boat with 5 points in 5 races could be beaten by a boat who finished 8, 9, 10, 11, and 4th?  In other words could someone explain the actual rating system?

Someone needs to clean up all the robot posts.  This is rediculus.

I am confused.  Is the Performance Regatta on Sept 14?  If yes, where do we sign up?

I have an old North J105 main that I would love to get rid of.  It is well used so not good for racing.  Good for practice and maybe some dorking around on the Bay.  Measurements are

Luff 41.5
Foot 14.5
Leech 43.5

Could be recut if required.  $150 and its yours.

If you know of a local sailor who delivers boats, please give me a shout or send them in my direction.

I have run many Icicle and Rum races over the years and I have seen my share of violations of the RRS and the no luffing rule.  However, generally these violations were handled in a corinthian spirit wherein the violator willing and automatically accepted his or her responsibility and withdrew from the race. 

Today I watch a first place boat foul the second place boat.  This foul was blatant. The starboard boat was forced to tack in order to avoid the port tack boat.  Had the starboard boat not changed direction there certainly would have been a collision.  I was confident that the violator would own-up to his error and withdraw from the race.  I should have known better. In some circumstances winning is more important then fairness.

Today the first place boat won only because he refused to admit his error.

I surmise that if we are going to adhere to the RRS, we definitely need a formal protest committee.  Sad but I cannot see any alternative.

Sadly I just learned that Butch Boos' father died suddenly yesterday.  As most of you know, Butch owns C & C sailmakers, is a avid sailor, sailmaker, and supporter of GBCA.  At this time I do not have any details.

Otra made the front page of SA this morning.  She is still a GBCA boat!

I don't think Stinger has ever done this race.  Is this new or has it been done before? What is it and what's the format?

Stinger has a couple spots available for Rum 3.  I you would like to learn, or just want to go out and bang the corners, let the old Bee know.
