So Bee, were you throwing drunk mutinous crew in the water?  We noticed the MOB drill.  Seriously, is everyone OK?

The Landis Armstrong Trio is not to miss. I thought Dick Dale himself was there last year.
Check out the playlist. Surf tunes, rockabilly and alot more!

I checked the link.  Do we get all four guys as part of the trio?

Pat Gibson?  Jeff Jones?  Farley?  Robby?  Drake?  Where are all the Vipers?

Where have all the Vipers gone?  Long time passing.
Where have all the Vipers gone? Long time ago.

That woul be PETE Seeger in 1955.  Good song any way you look at it.
I would have guessed that the Vipers would have been at the NAs in Marblehead, but there aren't any TX boats in the event:-(  There was a Viper clinic this past weekend at HYC - rumored to have fiberglass carnage...

Uh, well, whatever.

You ought to think about getting a few golfers together.  This triathalon sounds like fun!

Sounds cool, but I havn't played Cow Pasture Pool since I was in my 20's and that was indeed a long time ago.
Was that back when they were stuffing feathers into old  little wrinkled leather balls?
Speakin' of old little wrinkled leather balls, how's it hangin' Bee:-)

You don't have to be a good golfer - you just need a team of good golfers.

We used to have a similar regatta on Lake Dillon.  Sail on Saturday and Sunday, ski at Keystone Saturday night.  On J/24's you had to use the same team of 5 all weekend.  Loads of fun!

Great idea to try and pull this together.  Good luck - I hope it comes off!!!

Interesting to see that the largest regatta on Galveston Bay these days (140+ boats) is all children.
It's so great to be on a racing line to see so many new sailors going at it.  Challenging one-design conditions today - wind settled at about 125deg, oscillating about 15 degrees either side of that, blowing about 10 knots building to 12 and swinging right to about 135 by the end of the day.

This is a qualifier for the National Team for the Optimist sailors.

Sat and Sun at HYC.  Monday is the USSailing Area F Eliminations for the Youth National triple hand championship in sonars out of TCYC.  Back to fleet racing on Tue thru Fri out of TCYC.

I'm just going to leave it at this - 100+ children come out to race in Optimists, Lasers, 420's - and this is a down year.  What do we need to do to get 100+ "adult" boats out for an event?...

Shouldn't be any conflicts.  The Texas Youth Race Week event will be in the upper part of the Bay (where they want to build the marsh) sailing out of HYC on Sat and Sun.  Rum racers shouldn't be interfering with these kids, unless you're WAY off course:-)  TYRW runs through next Friday.

Have fun gang!!!

So, who went home with pickle dishes?

Hey all,  JackieAdams75 tells me he signed up on the GBCA forum looking to find crewing opportunities.  His registration hasn't been approved yet and hopefully someone can help.

Keelboat crewing experience, Thistles, Holder 14 skipper, and some big keelboat offshore and weekend round the bouy racing.

Told him to show up at the dry sail area at Seabrook Shipyard on Wednesday's looking for a ride.  Someone give him a ride as well as get his registration here approved.

Has anybody had any positive communication (radio, sat-phone) with Escapade in the last 12+ hours?  They seem to be headed the wrong way and have a couple of dipsy-doodles in their course track.

Just sayin'.  Positive communication (i.e., check in's) is a good thing.

Chris,
Could you (or someone) get a screenshot and paste into a .pdf.  Not everyone has the ability to process .kmz files.

If anyone wants to see what the proposal looks like on a map, I've plotted the coordinates in a KMZ file. It opens directly in to Google Earth or any other software that handles KMZ files.

It really is a substantial amount of the bay up there!
