It does not seem right for J105 and J109 and other performance design boats to be in the seem class, as boats that are built to be a family cruiser, kinda takes some of the fun out of beer can racing, if you don't stand a chance of ever winning rum, and that is what the GBCA is about, fun sailboat racing. Just my thoughts!

You are grouping J boats and other planning boats against, other older hull designed, family cruiser that cannot plane, that are just trying an A-kite for fun. There is much of a chance going up against carbon fiber sails, can there be a classic canvas class of A-kites? Just my thoughts, lets if fly's!

Please remember today is 17 year Memorial or "911" (Sept 11, 2001) Never forget the innocent that died, the those that gave there life's to trying save others. Take minute and take a First Responded today. I remember watching video of Captains of many different size vessels give aid to people and taking them to safety as well, I believe many of us members would do the same if need here.

Great photos and nice moon to race by, much deferent race from Rum# 6

On another note, can not get the race results to come up just keep saying that it is loading. Try two different computers on deferent net work and some thing happen on both, any one else having this problem, was able to see them at around 12:30 last night, but not now.

Scott, any possibility of posting photos of the GBCA leader, so that the new members and old members with bad memory will know who they are and what they look like, so if they have a question know who to ask. They do this in other clubs and it is helpful to new and old members. Just my thought, and looking forward to another year of sailing with my GBCA friends. Terry

I like the idea of grouping the J boats in there own fleet. And look forward to another fun year racing in the GBCA, I am sure there will be great changes for more fun sailing together.

Foils! That's the trick! I have an idea how to install foils on FireWater, I wonder it Walter would get upset if I were some two foot long gated holes in his boat? I bet that would make us go faster once we baled all the water out of the boat! ::)

May I suggest for the cruisers, same start location, sail to the MOA off of Freeport (port rounding) then finish in the Galveston jetties, this would a very similar to the normal HMR start course, so it would still feel like HMR( or maybe a mark off of Matagorda). Then there is still around five hours to get back to Clearlake. Racer would have a a triangle course they would sail to the MOA do a port rounding head for a mark off shore the finish in the Galveston jetties. It would be a bit shorter course, but believe all or most would be agreeable to it with all that has happened. Just my thoughts, hopefully they are helpful !
