The U.S. Multihull Championships, a prestigious event hosted by US Sailing and sponsored by Rolex, will be held this year at HYC.  Both the Youth and Adult Championships will take place during the week of May 21st ? 27th.  On Friday, February 26th at 7:30 p.m., HYC has the honor of having Mr. John Tomko, a multihull championship racer give a presentation on catamaran racing.  This event is open to all GBCA members.   The presentation will be held in the ballroom following the Mid-Winter Regatta Skippers? Meeting.  Please plan to attend.

Registration is open for the Youth Multihull Champs, to be hosted by HYC May 21-23, 2010.  We hope lots of local boats sign up for this regatta which will compete in Hobie 16 with spinaker.  The U.S. Multihull Championship for the Alter Cup takes place May 24 -27, also at HYC.

*Bump* The cats are coming!

From HYC Weekly Press Release:
"HYC is excited to host US SAILING's national multihull championship at the end of May.  The sailors will compete in brand new Australian High Performance Catamaran's C2 Formula 18s provided by Fun-in-the-Sun Services for the prestigious Hobie Alter Cup.  Sailors qualify for this event by winning regional events.  Racing action takes place May 24-27.  Anyone interested and able to assist with the U.S. Multihull Championship to include housing, airport transportation, lunch distribution or organizing a spectator boat, please contact Nancy Edmonson at nredmonson@aol.com for details.  Catamaran racing is fun and fast. The boats will launch and return to Shell Beach, with numerous short races every day.  Come on out to the Club during the events, meet the sailors, and watch races."

This is a Rolex event and it's a big deal.
The best cat sailors in the world will be here, right in our backyard.
Certainly worth playing hookie one day to go spectate!
