The GBCA Single-Handed Regatta is August 16. This will be a good chance to show the crew how it is suppose to be done 8)! Then August 17 is the GBCA Mixed Doubles Regatta (aka the "Divorce Cup" :-*). Get your best different gender mate and come out to race. As an article in Sail Magazine last month stated "Single hands do not race W/L", this years course will be around fixed marks and buoys. It will be more of a Rum Race course or the Spring Regatta courses. Stay tuned for the upcoming NOR and make plans to attend both Regattas!

I got an email asking if the Cruising Class would be available for the Single/Mixed doubles. As long as enough sign up to form a class for each regatta, that option will be available. The class size is usually a minimum of three. Stay tuned!

Becky Lacy took the pictures yesterday. Thanks to Kelley Dees and Walter Horton with help with timing. Thanks to Marilyn Horton and daughter Vennessa and Bother Bill for coming out on Tramp. More than enough wind and a little cloud cover made for another fine day on the bay. Results for the Singles Regatta: http://www.gbca.org/page-873989 .

Mixed Doubles results: http://www.regattanetwork.com/clubmgmt/applet_regatta_results.php?regatta_id=8963. With nice wind, the Mixed Doubles got off without a hitch, well for the most part. Thanks to Walter and Marilyn Horton, Kelley Dees, Vanessa, Brother Bill and girlfriend Sandy, Rachel McMahon and Becky Lacy for help on Race Committee this weekend. Thanks you Chris Dees for getting the SI's ready from the Northeast. Thanks to By Baldridge and Classic Caf? for the great party Saturday night. Thanks also to Teri Gale for getting the food together for the after-race party today. One last shout out. Corrie Lambert was the stand-by Protest Judge for this weekend. Fortunate we did not need her expertise, but it was nice to know she was ready. I will get Becky's pictures loaded in the am.
