TASS (Texas Association of Social Sailors) would like to cordially invite all woman skippers to this year's Carol Becker Woman's Regatta on October 3, 2020.
The Regatta derives its name from the former TASS member and avid woman sailor Carol Becker who tragically lost her life in a boating accident in 1995. The Cup was a Deed of Gift to TASS in 1996 in recognition of the Woman at the Helm sailor exhibiting excellence in sportsmanship and proficient sailing skills in accordance to the TASS Race sailing rules set forth in this document.

Highlights:
- Note this is a woman at the helm race, e.g. crew can be co-ed, as long as a woman is helming from preparation to start to the finish line.
- In order to encourage as many woman as possible to participate, TASS has waived entry fees for both members and non-members of TASS.
- Any woman sailor, not just TASS members (as was the case in past years), can be the winners of the perpetual trophy.
- The race is currently set up for two classes, PHRF Non-Spinnaker, and Club Rating Non-Spinnaker.
- Registration deadline is Tuesday, September 29, 18:00 hours, with late registration extended to Friday, October 3, 19:00 hours
- Race is sailed as a pursuit race, with anticipated scratch start of the race around 13:00 hours on October 3rd
- There will be no face to face competitor's briefing, Sailing Instructions (SI) will be sent out via email on Friday evening
- The winners of each class will be jointly awarded the perpetual Carol Becker trophy, and there will be awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each class during a brief awards ceremony. No after race party due to COVID-19 restrictions.
