Everyone should try finishing the race around 8 PM.  Seeing all the boats sailing into the sunset is fantastic!

Honu, a Catalina 320, in its first GBCA race came in dead-ass last!  Yeah!  However, we were only last by half a boat length to another 320!  My wife and I hade fun in the race and at the social afterwards.  Thanks for welcoming us to the GBCA!

Galveston Bay Area Racing / Re: GBCA Cruising Class
January 06, 2010, 10:31:22 AM
Okay!  Honu, our Catalina 320, is signed up for the new Cruising class.  I have also registered on the regatta network.  I am ready to finish not in last like icicle #1.  Last to another 320 by half a boat length.  Hey, we're cruisers with a 120 jib, not the huge bed-sheets most are flying.  Also, we add water to the boat before a race to make sure we have water for the head.  All the liquor on the boat also slows us down!

General Discussion / Re: When to join for 2010 Season?
September 23, 2009, 03:51:23 PM
Thanks for the information.  I have already completed the PHRF-GB form, but I didn't send it since it said renewals before January 31.

If we choose, I want my GBCA membership to expire after the Harverst Moon regatta, so I will send my GBCA application at the end of October.

General Discussion / When to join for 2010 Season?
September 23, 2009, 11:21:36 AM
My wife and I want to join the GBCA to participate in the 2010 season (Icicle, Rum, Short-handed, Women's, Harvest Moon, etc.).  When should we join the GBCA?  I don't want to pay the dues in 2009 and have to repay in 2010.

Thanks.
