OK so there are 32 votes as of my vote this morning for a mix.  Where are the other 28 boats registered for the race???  Come on out there, if your going to vote, then come out to race.  If your not going to race, please don't vote.

OK guys and gals, the 8+ mile course around the bay is complete and its now time to get busy with the tough part of racing with the Club Handicap Group.  There are 17 of you in the group and when I looked today there was only one registered to race, Wandering Star.  What's up with that.  The whole purpose was to get us together in a group to account for the extra "stuff" we cruisers carry.  The other "cool rule" is that you can use anything on your boat, including A-Kites and probably auto-pilots (how about that Kevin)  I do know this.  Our class will disapear if we don't race in the GBCA events.  I already see that the Club Handicap class isn't listed in future races.  Sign up, it will be fun.  It makes you a better sailor and you really see what racing in "close quarters" is all about.  Please, register today.

Galveston Bay Area Racing / Re: GBCA Cruising Class

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone.  Kevin, please put the "Wandering Star" in for the cruising class.  Hunter 38 (2005) and the PHRF is 140.  To all you Hunter 38's out there ( I know that there are at least 3 and maybe 4 other 38's of the same vintage)  If we would all race, we could have a one design of our own.  Come on out, get on board.  It will be fun.  I have been slugging it out for about 5 years now on the Wandering Star.  Won the non-spin Frostbite back a few years ago.  Bad weather forced out the competition on the first day and they couldn't recover.  I like racing, but I am way tired of just subsidizing the GBCA race funds (I do drink my share of the rum after the races however).  This cruising class with "stuff" is going to be fun.  See you all on the water.
