The GBCA Performance Cup Regatta is 2 1/2 weeks away!!!

This year, the event is sponsored by Watergate Yachting Center and will be held October 5 and 6.



Dinner Tickets for Saturday night are on sale now.  Tickets are $10 and will be all the barbecue you can eat by Sloepoke Barbecue Company.  They will be making ribs, chicken, brisket and sausage plus all the fixins AND their award-winning sauce.

Watergate is offerring some fixed slips for the weekend.  They are located on pier 3 and pier 4, 35? and 40?.  Only 12 slips available total.  These are within stumbling distance from the tent.

Boat owners must do some paperwork with the marina office PRIOR TO THE EVENT and a copy of their boat insurance supplied to secure a slip for their use. This can be emailed or faxed. 

If anyone wants floating, there are large slips available on pier 13, if needed, just let us know.

    The GBCA Performance Cup is just a week away. Sign up and let?s have a great weekend. On a sad note, Larry Jones passed after Houston Yacht Club?s Hood Regatta. All sailing clubs do their best to make racing as safe as possible.  If the ?Y? Flag is up, wear your life jacket!  Also, consider wearing a life jacket that does not require manual inflation.  If you are knocked unconscious or have a medical emergency that leaves you incapacitated, the manual inflation will not help you survive.
   Larry?s daughter indicated he was interested in teaching others to sail and believes the Reach program with US Sailing would be an appropriate way to honor his memory (http://reach.ussailing.org/) .
