The 3rd annual J/Fest Southwest is scheduled for October 13-14. Visit the regatta web site at http://www.jfestsouthwest.com/. Registration is now open. Here are the pertinent links:

Echoing what Andrea said about Harvest Moon registration: Please sign up early!! Many of you are involved in the organization of regattas and know how helpful it is, when you can plan the classes, lines - and dinner (!) with more than just a few days to spare. Refund policies are very accommodating, if you find that something secondary - like: your job - got in the way. The deadline for regular registration is September 28!!!

Make sure to plan on attending the Saturday night party! It will again feature a fantastic menu and live music!

LYC and J/Boats Southwest have secured a large number of awesome raffle items and give-aways for the skippers' meeting (Friday 10/12 at 7:00pm) and the Awards Party on Sunday after the races. It is not to be missed!

Rodney Johnstone just let me know that he is attending J/Fest Southwest!  This makes the 3rd year in a row!  We're glad he's coming!  He brings a lot of fun to the event-plus he's a great sailor!

Thanks Rod for coming on down again!

Regards;

Scott

Gentle reminder that normal registration for J/Fest Southwest (10/13-14) closes at the end of this week on Friday, September 28th!! Please sign up and tell your racing colleagues to do the same!

Race Tracking: The J/70, J/24, J/105 and J/109 classes have elected to participate in Kattack race tracking. If you are in one of these classes you need to either rent a tracking unit or pay a small set-up fee to defray the cost of the tracking through Kattack. Either option must be paid for by 9/28. You can conveniently make this payment as part of registration using the Regatta Network 'Storefront'.

At the same storefront you can order sandwich bags from Neptunes for both days and also make reservations for the spectator boat for your family and friends. Note that space on the spectator boat is limited!

Great raffle items Friday (skipper's meeting) and Sunday! And make plans to attend the awesome dinner (same shrimp boil as last year!) with live music on Saturday night!!

See y'all there!!

NOR mentions a spectator boat for which you can supposedly register on Regatta Network.  Anyone tried this? I do not see how to do it.

One can also do Neptune Subs.  The only problem with that is that I eat them.

Xavier

Need a trimmer Saturday on the J24.

Someone-Please contact Charlie Daniels from Belton, Tx.  He really wants to crew for someone and he can help.  Here's the e-mail he sent out this morning:

Hey everyone.  I'm stll available for crew if anyone needs help.  I live on Lake Belton, just north of Austin, so I'll need to know today if possible so I can drive to Clear Lake in time.
