The 27th annual Harvest Moon Regatta? is coming up fast. A few approaching deadlines are coming up even faster.

Tomorrow, Friday, September 20, is the last day to purchase polo shirts for your crew customized with your boat name.  Six different color options are available, and only four shirts are required to qualify for the free embroidery. https://www.regattanetwork.com/clubmgmt/applet_storefront.php?regatta_id=6754&clear_session=1

Sunday, September 29th at 5 PM is the deadline to enter the race without incurring a late fee.  Enter on line at: https://www.regattanetwork.com/clubmgmt/applet_registration_form.php?regatta_id=6754

This year, watchmaker Jorg Gray has donated a watch which will be given to the overall monohull champion.  You can see a photo of the watch here:

We are also supporting Ovarian Cancer education and research through the Sailathon again.  September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month, so how about pledging $5 to support a Harvest Moon competitor and help spread the word about this deadly and frequently undiagnosed form of cancer that can affect the women you love.

Thanks to West Marine, the second and third place over all monohull skippers will receive gift certificates that can be used toward the purchase of nice watches at West Marine.

The watch prizes will be based on corrected times.  All PHRF and cruising fleet boats will be eligible.

I am looking forward to it Andrea. That is, if someone answers my post on the crew finder.

8.2 Radio Communications after Check-In: After check-in and SPOT verification, and boats shall monitor VHF Channel 72 until ten minutes after her start.

should be  ...SPOT verification, "all" boats shall.....

me agaiin  :D
25.9 Violations of the SPOT mandatory Tracking requirement: Tracking is required to assist the Race Committee. The Race Committee may, without a hearing, access a penalty of one finishing position within the division for a boat?s failure to comply with the requirement. This modifies R.R.S. A5 and 63.1.

..a hearing, "assess" a penalty...

So what does SPOT verification mean.  StinKer, uh I mean Stinger is currently showing up on the HMR tracking page.  Took me a while to get the SPOT to actually work.  Not sure why. What happens if my SPOT dies?  How will I know its been verified?

Thanks

Refer to SI 8.1 for the Check-in procedure...

I just caught this. S.I.16.1 Freeport Mark Passage. "If in doubt, fallow this procedure: when the bearing to the Freeport outer buoy, or it's charted location, reads 270 from the boat's helm, a boat shall hail, etc, etc.
If it is an azimuth bearing we are inside the buoy not outside. I think we should be outside as in the past, therefore should read 090 from the boat's helm.
Or am I over thinking this?
