As we did last year, the flare requirement in the Special Regulations will be modified in the Sailing Instructions.  The rule will read:
Flares:  Paragraph 4.23.1 is modified to allow the use of Coast Guard approved flares in lieu of SOLAS flares so long as the type and quantity comply with the requirements of the paragraph and they are not older than the expiration date.

Thursday is the day!  If you are racing, and have a spot locator with tracking, the race committee would like to have a link to track your location.  Staffing at the finish line and at the marina is much easier if we have an idea where the fleet is at.  Send email links to hmr@lakewoodyachtclub.com

Looks like they had an interesting morning down south. Can't wait to hear the stories.

The first boats began finishing around 10:15am Friday morning (Abandoned Assets, NefteGaz, Nelda Ray, Ranger, Tribology). Several have withdrawn due to weather. Front and storms moved thru Port A approx 9am. Looks to be a busy/long Friday afternoon and evening.
